One of the topics covered during the discussion is the challenges WeddingDates faced during the pandemic. “I’ll never forget the clients that stuck with me through Covid, that paid their bills and did what they said they were gonna do. I’ll never forget that and they have my unending loyalty and gratitude and support because of what they did for me during that time,” says Ciara.
Ciara also talks about LIFT and the importance of being an upstander and not just a bystander. “I’m very conscious of it, raising my boys as well, we talk about being a bystander or being an upstander. If you see something happening are you just a bystander and do you let it happen? Or do you speak up? Getting them to think about that even at nine years old that they can speak up and know what’s right and wrong and live up to their values and actually speak up for things that are wrong. There is an organisation that I’m involved in called LIFT Ireland – LIFT stands for “Leading Ireland’s Future Together” and it’s a nonprofit organisation but it aims to lift the leadership of Ireland. And it’s not just focused on leaders, politicians and media and all that. The whole concept is that if you have one person in your life who listens to you, then you’re a leader. It’s a really powerful program!” says Ciara.
