ONE VENUE’S WEBSITE TRAFFIC HADN’T DROPPED. THEIR ENQUIRIES HAD. THE enquiry FORM WAS STILL THERE, JUST SITTING 800 PIXELS TOO FAR DOWN THE PAGE.
If your website enquiries have dropped off and you’re not sure why, the instinct is usually to blame the enquiry form itself. Too many questions, takes too long to fill in, whatever it is. Worth checking eventually. But there’s a faster question to ask first, can anyone actually see it?
One of WedPro’s venues had a form live on their site for almost three weeks. Traffic looked completely normal, same views on the gallery, same views on pricing. Zero enquiries came through the form in that time. Before touching the form itself, the team pulled the venue’s own website data to see what people were actually doing on the page. The form wasn’t the problem. It was sitting around 800 pixels down the page, well past where most people stopped scrolling.
A shorter enquiry form doesn’t help if nobody scrolls to it
Cutting a form down to name, date, guest count is good advice and everyone gives it. But three fields sitting under your gallery and pricing section will get you the same zero enquiries as fifteen fields would, if nobody ever scrolls far enough to see it. You can strip a form down to almost nothing and it still won’t convert in the wrong spot on the page. Rewriting the wording doesn’t help a form that nobody’s reaching anyways.
What “buried” actually looks like on a venue site
It’s rarely as obvious as a form sitting right at the bottom of the page. Sometimes it’s positioned below the photos people are scrolling through, rather than alongside them, so by the time they’re meant to come across it, they’ve already moved on. Some venues solve that with a side panel instead, so the form stays in view the whole way down the page. Other times it’s only live on one page when couples are actually browsing three or four, so it’s simply not there when they’d want it. None of that needs a redesign, just a quick check of where the form actually sits.
Where to look if your enquiry form has gone quiet
WedPro’s Enquiry Manager shows you exactly where your enquiries are coming from, website form, phone, email, walk in. If your overall numbers look steady but the split’s shifted, phone and email holding up while website enquiries specifically thin out, that’s usually the sign to go and scroll your own site the way a couple actually would. Takes a few minutes and it’s often quicker to spot than you’d think.
SEE IT FOR YOURSELF
Book a demo and we’ll show you Enquiry Manager in action, exactly how it tracks where your enquiries are coming in from and where they’re dropping off, so you can see for yourself if WedPro is something worth using alongside your own site.
