Content Ideas For Wedding Venues

Ready to dazzle engaged couples and unveil the enchantment of your wedding venue? Social media is your stage, and we’ve got the spotlight-worthy content ideas to make your venue shine!

In a world that thrives on connections made in a heartbeat, engaging content is the secret to capturing the hearts of soon-to-be-wed couples. And where does the magic happen? On social media of course, where creativity meets romance! From Instagram to TikTok, these platforms aren’t just about trends; they’re your ticket to reaching couples dreaming of their perfect wedding day. By creating content that’s both imaginative and gripping you’ll land right on the news feed (and the hearts) of engaged couples.

In our 2023 Wedding Industry Report a tremendous 67% of brides in Ireland and 52% in the UK told us Instagram is their go-to platform for wedding inspiration. TikTok also isn’t just for dancing and lip-syncing. It’s a powerful marketing tool that can help you reach millions of potential customers. TikTok has over 1.5 billion users in 2023, and approximately 69% of them are between 18 and 34 years old. This means that social media is the perfect place to reach the next generation of couples who are looking for their dream wedding venue.

But how do you create content that stands out and showcases your wedding venue in the best light? Our marketing team put together 10 content ideas that will captivate couples, celebrate love in short-form style and get your venue ready for engagement season.

Captivate, Inspire, and Celebrate Love

One of the easiest and most effective ways to showcase your wedding venue is to highlight its features and amenities. Create a short video tour of your venue, highlighting its unique selling points, such as its location, size, capacity, style, catering etc. But don’t worry, you don’t need a professional to do this, TikTok’s algorithm prefers footage that is done by non-experts.

Keep the videos short, for example, one quick video about the ballroom and another about the outdoor ceremony area. To keep things interesting use text overlays with keywords, transitions and trending music to make your video more appealing and informative or have a team member film you doing a tour. Too shy to be in front of the camera, why not use the voice-over feature? Try fun captions like “5 reasons to get married at [venue name]” or “The number one reason couples book [venue name]”.

Using trending songs or hashtags like #weddingvenuecheck can significantly increase the visibility of your content as they are commonly searched for or followed by a large number of users. This can lead to higher engagement rates, potentially attracting more followers and enhancing your online presence.

Wedding Venue Social Media Content

Myth busting is a popular trend on TikTok – a fun way to participate is by debunking some common and persistent wedding planning myths that they may have or are likely to encounter. Use your expertise and experience as a wedding professional to provide factual and helpful information. You can also use the duet feature on TikTok to react to other users who spread or believe these myths or use the stitch feature to add your commentary to their videos.

How to: The Duet feature on TikTok enables you to interact with other users’ videos by creating a response that appears side-by-side with the original video. To use this feature, you need to select a video you want to duet with, tap the share button, choose Duet, record your video alongside the original, and then post it.

The Stitch feature on TikTok allows you to add your commentary to a portion of someone else’s video. To use this feature, you need to select a video you want to Stitch with, tap the share button, choose Stitch, select up to five seconds from the video, record your addition, and then post it.

Use the hashtag #weddingmyths and captions like “The truth about [myth]” or “Don’t believe this [myth]”. For example, debunk the myth that you can’t see your partner before the ceremony. According to Brides.com, this superstition dates back to the times when arranged marriages were common, and the bride and groom were not allowed to see each other until they were married, to prevent them from changing their minds. Tie in your wedding venue by showing some first-look photos from real weddings.

People love seeing transformation videos and with all the effort that goes into getting a wedding or event room set up, it is the perfect opportunity to capture some behind-the-scenes footage. Create a time-lapse video of how your venue changes from an empty space to a stunning wedding setting, or show the process of setting up and decorating your venue for different wedding themes and styles. Another fun idea is to show the behind-the-scenes of your venue’s staff and vendors, such as your wedding coordinator, florist, caterer, DJ, etc.

For example, use the hashtag #weddingtransformation and the song “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to show your venue’s transformation.

Did you know you can share testimonials and reviews from happy couples who have tied the knot at your venue, even if you don’t have a video from their wedding day? Ask your previous couples to record a short video or audio testimonial for you, or use screenshots of their online reviews and ratings. Use the voice-over feature on TikTok to narrate testimonials and reviews, or use the text-to-speech feature to let TikTok do the talking for you. Or how about asking different members of the staff to read snippets from the reviews?

How to: To use the voice-over feature on TikTok for narrating testimonials and reviews, you would first record or upload your video, then tap the microphone icon for the Voiceover tool, hit the red record button to add your voiceover, and save. If you prefer to use the text-to-speech feature, you would type your caption, tap on your text, select Text-to-speech, choose one of the voice options, and tap done.

Use the hashtag #weddingreview and the song “Best Day Of My Life” by American Authors to share testimonials and reviews from happy couples who have celebrated their big day at your venue. Looking for more creative solutions?

If you want to build trust and credibility with your potential customers, a good idea is to share your expert advice for planning a wedding or more specifically planning a wedding at your venue. Harness your experience as a wedding professional to help your audience with their planning challenges or hurdles. You can share your advice on topics such as how to book your venue, questions to ask during a showround, how to choose a wedding date, how to prepare your wedding budget, how to select your wedding vendors, how to create your wedding timeline, etc.

Use the hashtag #weddingtips and the song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz to share your advice for planning a wedding at your venue. Even better, turn it into a series by using the hashtag #weddingwednesday and sharing one tip per week.

Content Ideas For Wedding Venues UK Ireland

Educational content has become increasingly popular on TikTok. Share your expertise in wedding planning or the industry – demonstrate creating a champagne tower, folding intricate napkins, choosing the best backdrop for photos or offering insights on selecting flowers for a stunning bouquet. This not only provides your audience with valuable knowledge about the intricacies of wedding preparation but also positions your team as approachable and highly skilled, fostering a deeper connection with your viewers. And you don’t have to do this yourself, get your support staff or vendors involved in a collaborative effort.

Use the step-by-step video feature on TikTok to create instructional and educational videos that show your audience how to do something simply and easily. To shake things up use a voice-over to explain your steps, or play around with the text-to-speech feature.

Use the hashtag #weddinghowto and captions like “How to build a champagne tower in 5 easy steps” or “How to fold a napkin like a pro”.

If your potential customers can’t visit your venue in person, you can still give them a taste of what it’s like to be there with virtual venue tours. By using the 360-degree video feature on TikTok you’ll be able to create immersive and interactive videos that let your audience explore your venue from different angles and perspectives. To use this feature, you would record your video using a 360-degree camera, then upload the footage to TikTok, where you can stitch together your videos and add fun energy using only your record button. For more advice take a look at TikTok’s article on shooting tips and transitions to make your TikToks pop.

A good idea is to do a version of the tour for each season or each month so couples can see what the venue or surrounding area would look like when they get married. Use captions like “A winter wonderland at [venue name]” or “Spring is in the air at [venue name]”. You can also use the text-to-speech or voice-over feature to narrate your virtual venue tours like you would if they were to visit in person.

From our 2023 UK Wedding Industry Report: 19% of surveyed couples turn to TikTok for wedding inspiration – nearly doubling from the previous year.

If you like keeping up to date with the latest wedding trends why not do short videos that feature the latest and hottest wedding trends that your wedding venue can offer or accommodate? It’s even more captivating if you’ve got real wedding footage, flaunting how your venue seamlessly caters to various themes, colours, and styles.

Platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest are your go-to allies for trend-spotting. Sharing these trends with your followers not only signals that you’re on top of the game in the wedding industry but also positions your team as trendsetters. This not only provides your audience with a wealth of inspiration but also solidifies your team as an invaluable resource, ready to turn dreams into reality.

You can also use hashtags to join or create trending challenges, such as #weddingdresschallenge, #weddingcakechallenge, #weddingdancechallenge, etc. Or you can use the hashtag #weddingtrends and the song “Trndsttr” by Black Coast to highlight wedding trends.
